You may not want to hear it, but diet and exercise programs should never have an end date. You should always be eating right and staying active.  You will be constantly building a habit of eating well and exercising and this is a habit that needs time to develop and solidify. Although Body20 is only with you for 20 minutes of your day, our goal is to be a big part in developing healthy habits with you.

Mindfulness is the key to developing healthy habits. Just like breaking bad habits, you must concentrate harder on the desired behavior. However, don’t allow yourself to think in a negative way. Rather than breaking bad habits, think about building healthy ones. Instead of telling yourself you can’t eat something, think of all the things you can eat that will be good for you. Instead of telling yourself you shouldn’t be sitting in front of the TV every night after work, give yourself something to do. Create a habit of finishing dinner and going on a nice evening stroll. When you become mindful of a bad habit don’t think about stopping that habit, instead think of a positive habit you can create that will help you reverse it.

“Positive thinking evokes more energy, more initiative and more happiness.”
